Don't they look thrilled!

and we're off!

yeah, no nap for them!

Calen actually fell asleep with the water bottle in his mouth!

and we MADE it....well, at least to Murdo, SD!
What a day! Sunday we left about 10:30 am from Wisconsin...it was HOT, HOT, HOT in Baraboo...on the way to 90!  We made it past Winona, MN before we made our first stop....We stopped at a rest area to have a picnic lunch and let Trout run around. It was incredibly windy, but still warm. We left the rest area about 1:15....Where Calen announced "I am not tired....Brodie and I are going to stay up all day!" By 2:05, both boys were sound asleep :) At our next stop, the temp had dropped to 60....and then when we stopped for dinner in Mitchell is was back up to 70. Talk about a change in weather! We made it to Murdo, SD at 9:30. 11 hours later and the boys were still awake....you would have thought they had never been in a hotel before! I think we were all asleep by 10:30 p.m. Trevor and I were both amazed at how well they boys did....we only had a few moments of melt downs, but otherwise, they were incredible! Lots of laughs....A few fun Calen quotes:

Mom, look at those volcanoes! (near LaCrosse, WI)
Mom, I want to move to Africa with everyone in this car.
Mom, I am going to see ground hogs in Alaska (This was around 9 pm. so I think he was getting delirious)
Trevor's response to all this....Geez Calen, you sure have some big plans for your life!

This a.m. the temp is about 50 and we are heading to the Badlands after breakfast.
